Accounts Payable News approached Dolia Design with a large website project that required in-depth planning and fresh design ideas in order to achieve what they were looking for. APN had an old website that was in need of a total upgrade and refresh. The most important part of this project was to transfer all of the news items (1000’s) from the old to new site whilst retaining the SEO within the site to ensure the website maintained its good search engine rankings. Not only was the website undergoing major redevelopment but APN were changing their name to Purchase to Pay Network, along with their domain name, which threw in another ‘site transfer’ variable to address.
As a large project, we decided to tackle it in three separate phases, which were 1. Planning / Research, 2. Content Migration, and 3. Design & Development. This allowed us to systematically tackle each part of the project in the right way and ensure the project ran smoothly. We ensured that contact with the client was made on a very regular basis, with meetings arranged after each phase completion.
We produced a stunning, mobile friendly website for PPN which provides the company with a solid new online base from which to deliver their news and connect with their readers – both current and new!
The site now offers its users a great mobile experience, which is so critical for news sites as more and more people consume content via mobile whilst on the go. Feedback from PPN website users over the first few weeks of going live was extremely positive, and the site now continues to attract new readers and importantly, encourage current readers to return more frequently.
