Two members of the Dolia team are taking part in fundraising activities this month. Please join us in supporting their efforts!
Who? Joe
When? Saturday 14th September
Where? PCE Motopark, Down Farm Lane, Winchester
How long? 5 hours
Why? Raising money for Cancer Research UK
The Nifty Fifty is a 5 hour long endurance race on a 50cc to 90cc moped (so NOT fast) and the winner is the team that completes the most amount of laps before the moped blows up! Apparently only 10% of the mopeds survive the race.
Joe is racing with some of his family in aid of Cancer Research UK, a charity whose vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. They work to help prevent cancer, diagnose it earlier, develop new treatments and optimise current treatments.
Joe is also training to compete in Tough Mudder and Race for Life next year to raise money for Cancer Research so watch this space!
Who? Emily
When? Sunday 8th September
Where? Southampton Common
How long? 7km walk
Why? Raising money for Alzheimer’s Society
This September and October, Memory Walks of various lengths will be taking place across the UK to raise money for a world without dementia. Emily will be walking in Southampton with her fiancé and a couple of friends.
Emily is walking in aid of Alzheimer’s Society, which is a UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia today. Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes.
There is still time to join a Memory Walk if you are interested! Go to www.memorywalk.org.uk to find a walk near you.
Dolia have worked with many clients in the charity sector or who partner with charities, and we love seeing how our clients support good causes.
All donations are much appreciated - thank you!
