Here’s an update on how much Joe and Emily raised for their charities last month, and some photographs of the events.

Mayhem, madness and adrenaline pumping are all ways I would describe my experience at the Nifty Fifty Endurance Race. Navigating my way over full-sized motocross jumps, dodging other riders and trying to avoid flying stones for 5 hours on a tiny 50cc moped sounds stupid, but it was a lot of fun. As I hadn’t ridden for a few years, I was very nervous, especially as the tiny moped was not built for that kind of adventure… but as soon as I set off and hit the first jump, I loved it!
Thankfully, I wasn’t alone in this and I shared the riding with two teammates. Despite a couple of crashes, multiple mechanical issues and a whopping great bruise which turned most of my arm green for a while, we completed the race with a pretty good score! All this was for a great cause and we raised £470 for Cancer Research! Roll on next year!
Walking around Southampton Common with a few friends was a lovely way to spend a Sunday. To be able to do it for a good cause was even better. The weather was on our side as it was sunny and warm, but not too hot. We were encouraged at almost every corner, with plenty of volunteers cheering us on. Whilst the Memory Walk was only 7km, my feet were still aching afterwards…
The exercise was worthwhile because I raised £140 for Alzheimer’s Society and my team raised £910 in total! A Memory Walk is something that everyone can take part in as there are different lengths and locations across the country. I would definitely consider doing it again.
Thank you for your support! Watch this space for future fundraising activities by the Dolia team. Joe is training to compete in Tough Mudder and Race for Life next year, raising money for Cancer Research again.
